Niacinamide
Vitamin B3
The barrier-and-tone workhorse of modern skin science.
Biology
A water-soluble B vitamin and precursor to the NAD⁺/NADP coenzymes. One of the most studied actives in dermatology.
Mechanism of action
Increases ceramide synthesis to reinforce the barrier and reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and limits melanosome transfer to keratinocytes to visibly even tone.
Stability & formulation
Unusually stable for a vitamin — tolerant of pH and heat — which is why it pairs well across formulas.
Synergy in the formula
Locks in the barrier the exosomes rebuild in Exotokine; in Tocoforte it holds the hydration from B5 and the antioxidant gains from C and E.
Clinical evidence
Study data, characterisation reports and clinical references for Niacinamide are shared with stocking clinics and distributors on request. Request the dossier →
